Welcome to the NZIOB Student section of our website. This area is to help you in your decision to become part of the Construction Industry in New Zealand. If you have already made that decision and are studying for a diploma or degree, then we can assist you with your studies.
As a student at secondary school, choosing what you do when you leave school could be one of the most important decisions of your life. To help you make this decision, there are a number of websites that you can research to assist you. We suggest:

The NZIOB provides scholarships and awards each year as part of our contribution to developing careers in the building industry. These awards go to the outstanding academic achievers of their year in the contruction subjects. To be given one of these awards means a foot into any construction company in New Zealand.

We have several events over the course of the year which you are welcome to come along to. These events often cost nothing to attend and provide good information and a chance to meet your peers in the industry. Watch the boards at your University or Polytech and visit the CPD Activities section of the website frequently to register for these activities.

We have a sub-committee which represent all student matters at Council. If your tutor can't provide you with the information you require, then the members of the student committee will provide you with additional assistance.
All Chapters have Student Awards whereby we celebrate those who have excelled in the preceding academic year.
