Adrian Jonkers MNZIOB - Southern Chapter President
Adrian Jonkers has been on the Board of the Southern Chapter since 2008. He comes from a Quantity Surveying background and has over 20 years experience in commercial building. Adrian is the South Island Manager for Fletcher Construction based in the Christchurch office.

Samir Govind BE(Hons), ME, CPEng, MIPENZ, MNZIOB - National President Elect
Samir has been involved with the Southern Chapter of the NZIOB since 2006 and has served as Southern Chapter President 2008 to 2010, currently the Immediate Past President for the Southern Chapter. During his tenure as the Southern Chapter President he was also ex-offico Trustee of the NZIOB Education Fund for the Southern Chapter. He has also been copted onto the National Board for the Association of Consulting Engineers New Zealand (ACENZ) during 2008/2009.He is a structural chartered professional engineer with over 14 years of experience in the building industry.
Samir is a Technical Director of Beca and manages the Structural group in the Christchurch office which he founded back in 2006. He is well respected for his strong technical and management skills, and was recently acknowledged for his passion and commitment towards th building industry; being named the NZIOB Young Achiever 2007 and the Telecom/ACENZ Future Leader 2007. Samir has also provided many other voluntary services to the building industry, some recent examples include, mentoring for third professional students at the University of Canterbury, on the Telecom/ACENZ Future Leader judging panel, NZIOB preliminary judging panel, and marking the ACENZ Best Practical Student Reports.

Graeme Goss FNZIOB - National Membership Officer
Graeme is a foundation member of the NZIOB, and has been on the Southern Chapter board since the late 80's and a National Councillor since the early 90's. Graeme qualified with a New Zealand Certificate in Building in 1977 whilst working at New Zealand Structures. After heading off overseas he came back to Christchurch in 1986 and set up an architectural building and construction management company, Hindhope Developments, specialising in the more challenging projects. He has worked on several large NZ projects including the hydro schemes and "think big" projects in the South Island.

John Wise MNZIOB - Membership and Activities

John has been on the Southern Chapter Board for a number of years. Now retired, he has experience in industry and tertiary education. He has 30 years in teaching construction, Head of Department Building and Dean of Faculty at Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology. His final four years at CPIT were as Project Manager within Facilities Management.
